Spring has sprung!

I have thoroughly enjoyed walking the streets of Lancaster recently.

The trees are blossoming and giving off their sweet aroma.

The flowers are blooming; in splashes of reds, yellows, oranges, pinks, purples.

More people are out and about enjoying the warmer weather; greeting each other on the street.

There's just something about spring that makes me feel alive and excited about all that lies ahead. Maybe it's the fact that I'm the daughter of a farmer. Spring equals planting season and the start of growing season. Maybe it's because spring brings the anticipation of the new things that God will do in the new season. Whatever it is, this year is no exception to my excitement at the start of spring. As I look ahead to what awaits me in Prague, I get excited about the opportunity to get to know a new culture; to build relationships with people I don't yet know; to see how God is already at work in a city where people often don't feel they need him; and to be transformed in the process.

I heard recently that Prague has a lot of flowering trees as well. Just think, next year, I'll be walking the streets of Prague, enjoying the familiar, and yet different, sights and smells of a new spring season. I can hardly wait!
